Smarty Pants Adds Laura Perkins

Youth and family research and consulting firm, Smarty Pants®, announced today that Laura Perkins has joined its research team. Perkins, a seasoned qualitative researcher, assumes the role of Insights Guru and is responsible for expanding the company’s traditional and digital research services and creative deliverables.

She knows the youth and family industry and has worked with some of the world’s best marketers.”

With nearly a decade in the research industry, Perkins has demonstrated a particular gift for
studying and analyzing consumer needs. She is a master at online research tools and research
communities and has overseen large, long-term studies for clients ranging from MTV to
Walmart.

Perkins joins Smarty Pants from Communispace where she served as a Senior Consultant working with clients such as Hasbro, Avon, Travel Channel, and a number of kid and family CPG brands. She was also the lead client manager and on-site consultant for Walmart, serving as the voice of the consumer in the company’s Insights and Analytics Group. While at Communispace, Perkins also pioneered a creative storytelling department to help companies gain a clearer picture of their customers, merging impactful insights and innovative reporting methods.

Perkins began her career at Hasbro as Market Research and Global Insights Coordinator, managing the company’s play-testing facility and working with research vendors. She also aided in trend analyses to grow the company’s knowledge of the youth and toy markets.

Perkins has a BA in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Western New England College where she graduated summa cum laude. During her studies she earned the Skookum Award for academic success, leadership and community service. She is based in Boston, MA.
