Olivia Denton Smith Joins Smarty Pants Research Consultancy

JOHNSON CITY, TN – Smarty Pants market research and strategic consulting firm has added Olivia Denton Smith to its Tennessee-based financial and operational leadership team as Accounts Payable Manager or “Expense Expert.” Denton Smith’s role, reporting to the CFO, is a new position for the rapidly expanding organization that has added 22 new professionals in the first half of 2021.

Denton Smith is responsible for developing and implementing financial controls and
processes that streamline business operations, drive efficiency and reduce expenses. She
also manages project and company profitability analyses and directs all financial transactions with research participants, vendors, employees and benefits providers.

Denton Smith brings more than 20 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance and business operations to Smarty Pants. She began her career as the financial operations lead at a major East Coast construction firm, where she managed payments for projects, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors. She transitioned to local government, serving as the executive assistant to a city manager. She later became executive assistant to the president of a community college, where she liaised with local, state and federal leaders, planned milestone events, managed departmental budgets and advised on policies, personnel and strategic planning. Most recently, Denton Smith led the accounting, finance, business operations, human resources and marketing for two regional medical practices.

Denton Smith holds an MBA from the University of South Carolina, a Bachelor of Business Administration from King College and two associates degrees from Virginia Highlands Community College.
