Since 2010, Emily has been an indispensable member of the Smarty Pants team. She has grown from a meticulous up-and-comer to business savvy Insights Sage, a title that is perfectly suited to her nearly 20 years’ experience as a full-service market research consultant. As a Sage, Emily leads both quantitative and qualitative work, specializing in multi-method project design and execution.​

Emily has deep expertise in A&U studies, segmentation, concept testing, Max Diff analysis, conjoint analysis, perceptual mapping and more. She utilizes a custom array of techniques on each project that help clients zero in the most impactful strategies to drive their business.

In addition to her quant prowess, Emily regularly puts her qualitative skills to use as an engaging moderator, observant ethnographer and leader of qualitative initiatives and teams. Regardless of the method, she takes great pride in making connections with respondents, gleaning transformational insights, and finding new ways to deliver results in beautiful, creative and easy-to-digest formats.​

Leveraging her gifts as research practitioner, client whisperer and talent developer, Emily co-leads one of Smarty Pants four key business units. Her team’s roster includes partners like Warner Bros. Discovery, ACCO Brands, Medline, Universal, Google and Ulta Beauty. Across all of her partnerships, Emily helps clients glean and strategically apply insights in a way that supports business growth. Emily is also passionate about the professional development of her team members to ensure Smarty Pants is exceeding expectations at all levels.


Prior to Smarty Pants, Emily served as Qualitative Research Manager at Ipsos Understanding UnLtd, helping to build their qualitative health care business and execute several high profile qualitative research initiatives.

Prior to IUU, Emily served as a Senior Project Director at Ipsos Marketing, supporting the Procter and Gamble account. In this role, Emily managed several U.S. and global research initiatives for numerous personal care brands including Always, Tampax, Pantene and Olay, among others.

Emily started her career at WB&A Market Research, as a research manager focusing primarily on clients in the travel and education industries.​


Emily holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky, with a focus on Marketing and Management.


Originally from the Midwest, Emily and her family of five live in sunny San Diego, CA. Yes, she’s the mom of three kids, including twins! Send caffeine! ​
